Cherokee Purple Heirloom

Heirloom from Tennessee cultivated by Native American Cherokee tribe.

Some Folks Consider this to be the best-tasting tomato available! Dark, rich colors—mixed purples, browns, black and brick red. Very productive plants producing loads of dusky rose to purple colored, 12 oz.-1 lb., beefsteak tomatoes with deep red colors to the interior flesh and dark shoulders.  Imagine these 6-in. meaty fruits sliced on a platter. Some weigh more than a pound! One of the best tasting heirloom tomatoes.

Spacing: 18-24 inches between plants, 3 - 5 feet between rows

Spread: Indeterminate-4-6’ tall x 3-4’ wide

Sun/Shade: Full Sun

Days To Maturity: 80 days from transplant

Fruit: Mixed purples, browns, black, brick red

Comments: Resistant to fusarium wilt, Full complex flavor, smoky-sweet, notable in some heirloom varieties, many find this one of the very best for flavor, large meaty tomatoes
